Ashwood House

This house addresses a park and its west elevation references the Sydney Opera House designed by a hero of the owner, Jorn Utzon. Internal rainwater tanks provide thermal mass and the beautiful sound of running water every time it rains. The house steps up the sloping block and the floor plan is bisected by a gentle curving passage connecting two trees at either end of the house. A rich red facetted plywood ceiling in the living area creates a warm night time space.
