BRIGIDINE CENTRE ST AUGUSTINES

This is one of seven BER projects designed while working at V Arc where Peter Byrne assisted his long time friend Bernie Jovaras of JWP Architects in Wodonga to successfully complete these diverse education projects. Inserting a large box full sized basketball court into the intact historical Church Street frontage was accomplished with stepping swaying boxed forms in colours sympathetic with the precinct. The facade facing the church has vertical laserlight “windows” while the north face has large downpipes supported by barap trusses discharging to three rainwater tanks.
